I haven't written anything on here in almost two months...

I have been feeling sick and so tired and the holidays sucked everything out of me! But we are so excited for #3 to join our family in July. I am 13 weeks so hopefully that 2nd trimester burst of energy comes asap! I have lots of catching up to do :)

How do we have a three and a half year old?!

Grant is so much fun these days! I just love how much they observe and learn and take in and remember at this age. The things he says and remember surprise me sometimes! He loves going to school and church and seeing his friends there. Miss Kristina says he is a great listener and a great helper. He is a great big brother and is always (well, usually) very concerned for Cale. He has his moments of screaming and whining but overall he is such a sweet boy who loves to cuddle and give big hugs and help clean up and help in the kitchen. He is still obsessed with instruments and he also loves to play pretend with his dinosaurs or bugs or trains. Anything that is in the past he refers to as "yesterday" which confuses me sometimes because I think he really is talking about yesterday but sometimes he is even talking about like a year ago. We are so thankful for this happy and fun boy!

Last November a group of about 100 people from our church, The Bridge, took a trip to Ensenada. They do these trips fairly often to build houses or something similar but on this trip they started coming up with the idea to take the whole church down there. So last weekend about 800 people took that trip down there and it was awesome! We debated bringing the boys with us but I am so glad we brought them. We want these kinds of things to be "normal" for our family, whether it is to another country or even right here in Bakersfield we want serving others to be something that is just part of our lives.

This was such a great trip! There were 40 different sights that teams from our church were working at all around Ensenada. People painted, built houses, fixed roofs, did VBS, brought 100s of blankets to a prison, there were medical and dental clinics and so much more. Besides serving the people down there, one of the main goals of the trip was to change our hearts and perspectives and from what I have heard from people I think that happened. Now to take what we have learned and put it into practice in our lives everyday!

Last Friday a good friend from Point Loma, Daniel, got married. Chad had to work so Becky and I went together and it was a great time and a beautiful wedding! It's always fun to see the old PLNU gang, just wish Chad could have come. Anyways, it was such a crazy, rainy day but when we walked out from the ceremony there was the most perfect full rainbow. Becky and I tried to follow it because it looked like it was coming from the ocean but we couldn't find the end :)

I finally got pictures of this and since Cale is actually walking some who knows how long he'll do it...but Cale has always put shoes on his hands when he crawls. I don't remember exactly when it started but if there is a pair of shoes in his sight he crawls over to them and puts them on. Flip flops, running shoes, slippers, boots and even high heels (at a Halloween party the other night he was putting all the little girls plastic princess heels on)...doesn't even matter what kind of shoe!

The last sport for Grant was baseball. It is so funny watching their age try to figure out where to run when they hit the ball and what to do with the ball when they catch it!

The other morning out of nowhere, Cale speedily crawled over to one of the kitchen cabinets (that he knows he isn't supposed to really play in) and just got this straw out and took off with it. I had to get the camera and video it, it was just so random and hilarious! (It makes a noise so you have to turn the volume up).

(Don't mind the stuff everywhere, we had just gotten home from Orange County the night before :)

Cale is turning into such a big kid...even though he doesn't really walk or talk...I love watching him watch Grant and then do things on his own. This morning when we got back from dropping Grant off at school Cale was playing with this car track for a while. I just had to record it, I thought it was so cute how he figured it out on his own and just did it over and over and over. And he is so proud of himself :) He's such a sweet boy!!

Grant's school had a field trip to the zoo today and it was SO hot but the boys loved seeing all the animals and doing some of the "kid" stuff they had like making big bubbles.

Yesterday we got to go see Aunt Dana, Aunt Laura and Uncle Brian! Laura met us at the LA Zoo and then we all went to see Dana who was in LA for a work trip and then we went to the Farmer's Market for dinner with Laura and Brian.

What I Love

There are so many things I want to remember right now about the boys...

Cale still isn't walking and doesn't show any signs of starting anytime soon. He crawls so fast and pushes things everywhere and walks behind them but he only takes about 1/2 a step on his own. I don't really mind except when we are out places where the ground is dirty and he just wants to get down. Although he doesn't walk, he can climb up anything and he can ride the plasma car pretty fast!

He has the funniest teeth ever, 6 on top and still only two on the bottom. His top teeth are huge but the way he smiles you can hardly see them. Good thing his dad's a dentist, I think he's going to need some serious ortho work!

He is still so happy and just loves to take everything in and watch people. That's a good thing since he gets dragged around to preschool, tennis, soccer and everything else that Grant has going on. He is loving My Gym now as long as there is music on and he is moving.

He says "uh oh" and can bark and growl. Sometimes he says "mama" if he really wants something and he kind of sounds like he says "thank you" if we tell him to. He makes a "vroom" sound when he plays with cars or trucks. He just points at everything and we can usually figure out what he wants. And if we tell him to do anything he knows exactly what to do. He loves to look at books and play with any toy that Grant plays with. He knows exactly how to push Grant's buttons and has a huge smile on his face while doing it!

He is pretty goofy, he makes the funniest faces and burrows his head into our faces. He eats everything but he still barely weighs 20 pounds. He cries every morning when Chad leaves so lately we've had to go out front and wave goodbye and watch Chad drive down the street or he will scream and cry in his highchair.

Grant is just so much fun! He has his moments of freaking out but he is such a sweet boy. He is loving school and runs out to play before I can even say goodbye. I love watching him in class when he doesn't know I am there yet. I think he might be a talker though, he doesn't stop talking when Miss Kristina asks questions. She says he is great and listens really well but he doesn't like to get dirty.

He is totally and completely obsessed with all instruments. It started with drums and then somehow he became really into the tuba. He likes to march around and pretend he is playing a tuba. He loves to sit on the wall and watch the "instrument players" practice every morning.

He is also having a lot of fun playing tennis and soccer right now. I think he just loves to run around and be with other kids. He also loves to take water breaks, ha!

I love the way he says some words right now. He often adds and extra "ed" on the end of words instead of changing the tense so instead of "made" he says "makeded" or "bought" is "buyeded" or there is "finded" or "watcheded," etc. He also says "youchother" instead of each other. I just love that we can have full on conversations with him. He says the cutest prayer for Cale if he helps put Cale down. He says "Dear God, thank you for Cale and please help him to sleep good tonight. And help his monitor not to beep. Amen." The other day he said, "I speak Spanish. Uno, dos, tres." He told me he learned that from Diego.

I'm sure I'll think of other things I want to remember right now but mostly I just love spending my days with Grant and Cale. They keep me on my toes and I swear they are already ganging up on us sometimes. They love to play in Grant's room together and it gives me a little break to do things like empty the dishwasher without Cale crawling onto it. They are both great helpers too, they put all their toys away at night and help me put laundry from the washer to the dryer. Bath time is totally crazy and I am usually soaked by the time it's done. Cale loves to attack Grant and give him hugs and I'm pretty sure he thinks he is wrestling with Grant. They both have some pretty great dance moves too! They are such sweet boys and we love them SO much!

I think it's safe to say our boys LOVE to swim! And we are getting every pennies worth out of having a pool.

It's been so cool to see how Grant has progressed since the start of the summer.

And Cale loves to sit on the side and fall in to us and then he moves around like a little frog.

The great thing about Cale is that he is also content to just play around the outside and throw things in and watch everyone else. He has gotten more daring as the summer has gone on and is now climbing onto the steps in the shallow end.

Grant started a 4 week (once a week) tennis "camp" today and he loved it! I don't know if he really learned much but he had fun and burned up lots of energy! I think his favorite part was picking up all the balls after they hit them. It is crazy how much kids his age absorb...it only takes a couple times of telling them something and they can learn pretty quick.

Grant and Chad went to the game at Liberty on Friday night and then we all went to the Bakersfield College game on Saturday night. Grant told me his favorite part of the game on Friday was watching the tuba and when we went on Saturday he was way more into the drumline than the game.

Where did the summer go? I can't believe Grant started school today. He was so excited and last night before bed we were praying and he just wanted to pray for the toys in his class :) His teacher has changed a few times this summer and now he has Miss Kristina. She seems really nice so hopefully Grant enjoys himself and has a fun year, I think that is what is most important for a three year old!

My mom saw somewhere the idea of taking a picture of their backpack and shoes on the first day each year.

He said he had lots of fun and Cale and I got to go to My Gym while he was at school. Cale's been going with Grant for a year but it is fun to just go with Cale now. Some kids stay for lunch and he was the only one without a lunchbox and he was SO upset. Other than that I think he loved it!

We finished off the summer with a trip to Santa Barbara to see Nana and Papa and the Wolfs. It was another fun time, Grant and Cale just love to see their cousins!

Before school starts I wanted to get down to San Clemente to spend some time with my family and see some friends. We crammed lots of visits in and had lots of fun!

We just love having visitors in Bakersfield and this summer has been full of them (about four weeks straight)! To be honest, there isn't a whole lot to do here, especially when it is hot. So we usually do a lot of swimming, which was perfect for Grant and Chase because they are both fish! It was so fun to have Megan, Chase and Brynn up to our house for a few days. The kids had a blast and Megan and I got to spend time catching up in person and drinking lots of iced coffee!

Chad's oldest sister turned forty so we all met in Ojai and spent the weekend there with no kids. My parents spent the weekend at our house with the boys, it was so nice to know they were in good hands so we could relax and enjoy the weekend. The Ojai Valley Inn and Spa might be one of the nicest places I've ever stayed. It is just gorgeous there, paradise and only 2 hours away from Bako. I think me might be back soon! We spent lots of time in the pool, playing tennis and eating yummy dinners. It was so nice to be able to actually finish conversations and spend a few hours at dinner each night. Kristan is such a blessing to our family and we are so thankful for her 40 years! She is so wise and such a prayer warrior for any and everything!

Our good friend from college, Britt, lives in Chile with her husband and two kids. They were up in the US for a few weeks and it worked out for them to stay at our house for the weekend during their trip. Emma is 4 1/2 and Matthew is almost 3. Grant had a blast with both of them and Emma wanted to hold Cale the whole time. It was so fun to catch up and to watch our kids play together. It's crazy how easy it is to catch up, even when we hadn't seen them in over 5 years! Next time it is our turn to visit them in Chile :)

The Vampire Strikes Again!

If you remember from here, we have a little vampire on our hands! Lately he loves getting into the cupboard that has the K cups for our Keurig...and he loves to put them in his mouth. This one looked hilarious when I picked it up off the floor. It's like he leaves his little vampire mark (the holes on the right side) on things around the house!

I am trying to get the house cleaned up and somewhat organized today and Cale just kept getting into everything he wasn't supposed to. So I stuck him in his wagon (a birthday present from Nana and Papa) and Grant is pushing him around taking him "shopping." He fills the wagon with a few toys and then dumps them in this pile. Cale hasn't even tried to get out and just laughs as Grant pushes him around. I love when they get along so well, it makes me happy :) And it makes it so much easier to be productive when I need to be!!

There are so many things I need to update on here, mostly for my own sake...trips to New York, Dallas and Legoland, Cale's birthday and lots of swimming. If you scroll down to May I did put up pictures from Grant's birthday party.

Swim Lessons

Swim lessons were COLD this year! It was cloudy most of the week and poor Grant and Brayden were freezing the whole time. As spectators we didn't mind a whole lot but it was hard for them to do much. Oh well, Grant still learned a lot and he is swimming great now!

We had a long morning at the pediatrician. We had to wait forever and it just took a long time to get through both of them. They both did great and this is how they were when we got home about 3 hours later!

Just like Grant did, Cale dropped way down in weight at 1 year. He is 19 pounds, 11 ounces (5%) and 29.5 inches (75%). Grant is right at 50% for both, he is almost 38 inches and he weighs 31 1/4 pounds. Everything else checked out nice and healthy, we are so thankful for these two healthy boys!!

I can't believe how fast this year went by. Cale is still such a sweet boy! He makes the funniest faces and is so quiet a lot of the time. He loves to wrestle with Grant and is the fastest crawler. He is such an observer, he just watches and plays and takes everything in. He is sleeping great and eats everything!

Grant and his friends were running around a restaurant and on their way back to the table Grant tripped and hit his head on the corner of the booth. At first I was kind of mad at him but then I saw lots of blood and an open wound and knew he needed some stitches. We were in and out of urgent care pretty quick and he did awesome but I think I almost passed out a couple times!

After a few visits to Insect Lore and having lots of bug hunts at home, we decided on having a Bug Party for Grant's third birthday. We got each of his friends a bug house and tweezers and hid bugs all over the backyard and they all got to go on a bug hunt. He had a blast and I think his friends did too :)

Going on a Bug Hunt!

Grant is totally and completely obsessed with bugs! We spend almost every morning while Cale is sleeping on "bug hunts." It started with looking for actual bugs, which he still does, but now we hide plastic bugs and he finds them in the backyard. He could do this over and over and over every single day. The other day we were at lunch with friends and while we were still outside talking I looked over and he was flipping over rocks in front of the restaurant looking for worms and pincher bugs!! This was from a few weeks ago while we were on a bug hunt.

And guess what the theme of his birthday party is going to be? Yep, BUGS!

Hiding Spot

This little spot under our desk has become Grant and Cale's favorite spot to hide out and laugh and play together. It's obviously not the safest spot for Cale so he doesn't stay there for too long. (He usually stands up under there and those plugs are just at his height...) Just now while I was filing some stuff away in the desk Grant was pulling our Bibles off the shelf and told me he was doing Bible studies under there. The boys have been coming to our small group with us lately and I think it's pretty cool for them to see us all studying the Bible and praying together. I love Grant's imagination right now, sometimes it's waaaaaaaay out there but he comes up with some pretty funny things!

We were actually ready early this morning for school so the boys had a lot of time to play together. I loved seeing this...they were playing together and Cale was so interested in what Grant was playing with and Grant was actually sharing with him :)

11 Months!

All I can say is praise the Lord this month was better! Cale has turned back into his "perfect" little self, woohoo!

Right after he turned 10 months he stopped nursing before bed and it made me a little nervous that he might not sleep all night. Well, he hasn't woke up at night since then. Now I just feed him when he wakes up in the morning and from each of his naps. His naps are amazing, usually from about 9-11 and 2-5.

He is eating great and although he still lets us feed him baby food he pretty much eats what we eat. He loves string cheese, chicken nuggets, pizza crust, steamed veggies, graham crackers, grilled cheese, pasta, scrambled eggs, black beans and quesadillas. He just barely has two teeth poking through on the bottom but he can eat all that just with his gums.

He loves to play with his toys and crawl everywhere. He puts absolutely everything in his mouth, this makes me excited for when he starts walking. He pulls up on everything but no steps or standing on his own yet.

He is just such a content little baby. He is very quiet in new situations, he just observes everyone and what is going on. He does not like to be alone, I have a hard time getting much done when Grant is at Mom's Day Out.

I love hearing the two of them just laugh at each other. Grant always thinks Cale is hitting him when he flaps his arms around excitedly.

He already gives Grant a run for his money. Grant calls him the Cale Monster because he totally crawls up to us and attacks us. He can definitely hold his own if Grant is wrestling with him.

He claps for things and waves sometimes. He loves the bath and the pool, can't wait to take him swimming a lot this summer!

He says "mama" and I think he says "hey" too. He used to blow air through his lips and then he figured out he could make noise doing it so now when he makes a purring sound.

So, right now he is pretty much the easiest baby ever. Hopefully he keeps it up!! I just can't believe that he is almost one. This year has gone by way too fast!

Thomas the Train

I forgot to ever write about our trip down to Fillmore to see Thomas the Train. We went with another family and it was a blast! We were debating on what to get Grant for his birthday in a couple weeks and we definitely decided on a train table after that day.

Easter Sunday!

We started out the morning with the boys' Easter trails leading them to everything the "Easter egg man" brought them.

The look on Grant's face when he came around the corner and saw his drum is priceless! He has been asking for a "drum for his knees" for weeks now. We figured out he was talking about some kind of drum that goes around his neck because when people march with them it looks like it's on their knees. (He's obsessed with drummers, he always wants to watch drumline videos on the iPad!)

He got lots of bug paraphernalia too, it's his other obsession lately!

We went to church and then did an egg hunt at home then over to friends for lunch and another egg hunt.

We went for a walk in the evening and Cale passed out, he hardly slept yesterday so he was wiped out!!

These boys LOVE each other! I can already see the mischief they will get in together as they grow up.

Grant found this monkey costume and was wearing it one day and Cale just kept crawling up to him and petting him.

Grant loves to push Cale in his car and as you can tell by Cale's arms flailing, he loves it too!

Cale lights up when he sees Grant and Grant is always so excited to see Cale. Grant can definitely be passive aggressive with him but for the most part he is the best big brother!!

10 Months!

I cannot believe Cale is ten months! This last month had some rough patches but I think we are back on track. We really were starting to think maybe we were ready for #3 but now I think we might wait a while, ha! For whatever reason his sleep was crazy this month, he is just so inconsistent. He'll go a couple weeks sleeping all night and then all of a sudden he's up 4 nights in a row. I kept thinking it was teething but still no teeth!! During the day he is a dream and he takes the most amazing naps but he very quickly was named the "night terror" it was so bad! Here's to hoping month 11 is a little better :)

He still is such a sweet boy though. He started clapping all the time and he nods "yes" and shakes his head "no." He bounces his head up and down when music is on and is the fastest crawler ever. He doesn't like to be alone and still lets anyone hold him. He isn't a big fan of baby food veggies but he loves them when they are just steamed in big chunks. He has the best laugh and is so excited to see us when we get him up from his crib. He loves the bath and is pretty fearless in there, the pool should be fun this summer!

He has the worst excema on his face, it looks painful! He also does the funniest thing with his tongue. He's always sticking it in and out and curling it up. Or he sucks in his lips and looks like an old man. Oh he's a funny kid! He has been babbling a ton. There are times where I swear him and Grant are carrying on a conversation. They both think the other is the greatest!

When I nurse Cale right when he wakes up and right before bed he is totally fine. He eats for a while and is pretty calm, I love those times with him!! The other two times during the day are a little crazy though! He does not want to be laying there for any amount of time, especially if there are other kids or toys around. Today he was obsessed with the ceiling fan and he just laughs and smiles at me. Oh well...I guess that is what happens as he eats more food and I want to be done in the next month or so anyways. Now to work on the sippy cup and milk. Hopefully it's not the same challenge like it was with Grant!

3/4 of a year!

Cale is (was) 9 months already, wow! I have been putting this off because I wanted to take different pictures but the ones I get kind of sum him up lately so they will have to do. He is still his sweet sweet self but boy has he had some cranky moments lately. I keep hoping to see his teeth poking through and giving me an explanation for this newfound crankiness but not yet.

The day he turned nine months I started feeding him at 7, 11, 3 and 7 and he did great with it. It makes it easier to feed him food in between and have three meals a day. He takes a really long nap in the morning (when he can...half the days we are out somewhere it seems) and a pretty good one from 1-3 usually too. I was nervous to start putting him down at 7 but he's done alright with sleeping all the way until 7, I love that!

He is crawling faster and faster, which is evident since he grew two inches since 6 months but only gained like 6 ounces! He is now 28 1/2 inches and 18 pounds, 8 ounces. He gets himself in some funny spots and there are quite a few places he knows he isn't supposed to go but he still tries. I love watching him explore and hearing his little laugh as he crawls around and finds new things.

He always has something in his mouth, either his whole hand, his foot, a toy or a pretzel. He is starting to make some mamamama and dadadadada and bababababa noises. I was worried for a while because he was just so quiet but lately he always lets us know he's here!

Grant calls him Cale Stuar and thinks it's hilarious! If Cale is crying Grant always gets in his face and says, "Cale Cale, it's ok, I'm right here." I love it, they love each other. Cale is already a rough and tough little boy, I swear he attacks us and can hold his own if Grant tackles him.

He has been pushing himself up on things for a while but he is starting to actually pull up lately. I love when he is standing, his little body is so cute. He LOVES the bath and loves to splash and crawl around in there. Bath time with both boys in there is a little crazy lately and I'm usually soaked by the time it's over but it's one of my favorite times of day with both of them.

He eats just about every kind of baby food. He'll gnaw on broccoli, grapes, squash, apples and bananas but without teeth he's still on the baby stuff. He loves yogurt and he seemed to like having his banana in this little thing.

He loves to have people around him all the time. He's still good about going to anyone, like at church in the nursery but he just doesn't like to be alone. I guess it makes sense because he pretty much always has at least his big brother around. Grant is such a great brother and really looks out for him.

What a fun adventure with fun friends! We definitely look forward to doing this again, although a Friday probably wasn't the best idea...the train was packed on the way home with people traveling south. Grant loves Garin and Jeremiah and they all get along so well. It's so fun that he is starting to have friends that he asks to play with and it helps that their moms are awesome too. We are really starting to feel connected here and making a lot of fun friends!

We had the boys dedicated at our church on Sunday. Both of our parents were able to come up...it's so nice to be closer for these kinds of things! Grant loved being able to be in there and hear the music for a little bit. I don't think we got any great pictures during the actual dedication because of the way we were facing, but here are some from before, after and at brunch at the Crystal Palace! We are so blessed to have such wonderful boys and to have the honor of raising them to follow Christ.

We went to Santa Barbara yesterday for my nieces birthday and while we were in the hot tub Nana and Papa were watching Cale. He fell asleep on Papa and when we came in, this is what we saw, too cute!

She turned 8 yesterday...I can't believe this was her in our wedding (on the left) almost 6 years ago!

On Monday!

Better late than never...this is such a fun baby age. I love watching him explore, he is on the go non stop. His crawl is getting faster and faster and he is always following someone around. I love when he crawls behind a ball and gets frustrated because as he grabs it it keeps rolling away!

He squawks so loud and does this cute thing where he blows air out of his mouth and also just started making kissy/fishy lips and noises. He is finally eating quite a bit of baby food, I think that is helping him get back to sleeping all night. One of his favorite things is taking a bath with his brother, he crawls all over him and splashes a ton. I think he loves when Grant is taking a nap because he has free reign of Grant's toys, no one to take them away from him! We love you Cale!

He is loving his paci and blankie lately and I love it. The pacifier really makes life so much easier, especially when he's been sick so often lately. I know it will be rough to take it away in a couple years but I love life with it right now!

He isn't actually pulling himself up in his crib yet, I just staged it for a cute picture, ha! He is pulling himself up on lower things that he can reach when he is crawling but that's it for now.

I love this, he totally sits up in his carseat, he must have strong abs and he is also houdini and gets his arms out of the straps no matter how tight he is strapped in!

Little Bible scholar...he loves to crawl through this little opening and get into the magazine basket.

And there is so much to grab onto on these shelves.

But don't worry, Grant is there to regulate him and tell him not to. Oh my, can you say first born!?

A couple weeks ago we went orange picking, it was freezing but we got lots or oranges and tangelos to take home. They are so good and we made lots of OJ from them.

Last week we went to a fire station for MOPS, Grant loved it. My mom was here and she stayed home with Cale, it was so fun to do something with just Grant!

A couple weeks ago I had a shower for my sister so Chad took Grant to Monster Trucks while I was gone. He LOVED it! They got front row seats and had to wear ear plugs it was so loud.

The other day Chad decided to set up our tent inside. It was kind of a rainy and foggy weekend so we left it up for a few days. The boys seemed to think it was pretty fun, they filled it with their toys and at night we turned off all the lights and played with flashlights.

The Grant monster is coming to get us!

One day last week I walked by Grant's room and he was in there all by himself playing with his trains and wearing his train hat.

He actually likes for all of us to wear train hats if we are playing with them.

As Cale was crawling around with his hat on, Grant thought he looked like a pirate.

Cale loves to put things in his mouth more than I remember Grant doing. Maybe it's because there are just more things out with a 2 1/2 year old. The other night I put him down with no paci, but obviously one in his crib, and when I went to get him, he had one in. I think he was pretty proud of himself.

Grant brought these out the other night when we told him to go get some pants to put on. The sad part is, he is so skinny that he actually fits his waist into Cale's 6-12 month jeans!

Grant is done with his pacifier and naps have been quite difficult lately. This is how he finally fell asleep on Friday after about 2 hours of playing in bed.

Cale was 7 months on Friday and I didn't even realize it until today! He is just the perfect addition to our family. He's really pretty quiet and always seems to be just taking it all in. He will contort his body just to spin around and watch whatever it is Grant is doing. He's becoming a champion napper and is doing great at night finally. He cracks us up on his hands and knees how he rocks so hard back and forth. He spends most of his time laying on his belly scooting around from one toy to the next. He got some fun new ones for Christmas that he LOVES! He's finally eating a little bit of food, usually just some rice cereal and applesauce while we eat dinner. And he loves puffs, he attacks my hand to get them with his mouth. His hair does not look like it's going to be blonde, even the hair coming in underneath is pretty dark, we'll see!!

He is scooting around like crazy, getting on all fours and rocking back and forth and lunging himself forward. He hates to eat but loves to watch every single thing Grant is doing. We headed up to Santa Barbara on Christmas day to spend it with Chad's family. That night we had dinner and did Advent and then opened even more presents! We are all so spoiled by both of our families :)

The big present for each family was to stay at the Biltmore all together. We got to use to pool across the street at the Coral Casino. The weather turned out to be perfect for swimming and hot tubbing and getting a little sun. The kids all had a blast together, it's so fun watching our kids fit right in with the older cousins!

Christmas #2

After Christmas in Bako we drove down to San Clemente to celebrate with my family. It was kind of a tough day for me, knowing what our friends Dan and Kelly were going through, having to take baby Samuel off of life support after 19 days. I am so thankful that Jesus was born though to provide us comfort in trials. After church on Christmas Eve we had my mom's lasagna and cupcakes for Jesus' birthday. We opened presents with Laura and Brian since they were going up to Pasadena that night. Christmas morning we opened our stockings and presents with my mom and dad and Dana. Grant loves being the center of attention when we are at my mom and dad's house!
